Welcome to the homepage of the not-quite-famous
philosopher Matthew Pike (1978-?)! This page is intended to
be a forum for discussing all of the various philosophy papers I have
written in my journey, both earning a B.A. degree in philosophy at the University
of Colorado, Denver and now currently in graduate school at the University of Colorado, Boulder.
Philosophy is the only discipline that
serves to unite everything- all subjects, all possibilities, and all areas
of experience into one realm of discourse, and is therefore, in my humble
opinion, the greatest sphere of study.
Neitzsche's theory of time: the Eternal Recurrence Abstract: The New Warrior An examination of the role the philosophy of Aikido could play in the realm of International Relations. Vouchsafe Thy Honor A study of the concept of HONOR put forth in Homer's classic, The Iliad Chaos and Complexity:The El Farol Problem Technical paper about my research into, and attempt at, programming a computer simulation of a chaotic/complex system, and the philosophical ramifications involved. Star Trek: Time Travelocity A metaphysical examination of some of the questions raised by Star Trek TNG concerning the feasability of time travel. As If It Matters... Would you let Scotty beam YOU up? Here are some things to consider before transporting to the Enterprise, or anywhere else. Sexism: Secret Operation Menstruation A socio-historical examination of menstuation and the role it has played in shaping the world. You're not uncomfortable with the topic, are you??? Goddesses What role did religion play in shaping our patriarchical society? Was it the cause or the victim? Random: Marx's Concept of Alienation Are humans losing touch with our nature? One Aspect of Why Moral Nihilism is Dumb Short paper, title is self-explanitory. Nietzsche and Dreams A study of one of Nietzsche's aphorisms concerning dreaming. Random Babble about Neitzsche Pretty random...four distinct examinations. |
